School Days Fool Days

Delano, California police were called to Cesar Chavez High School around 10:30 a.m. Monday and arrested 59-year-old Matthew Davis, who is a substitute teacher, for allegedly urinating in the classroom. Some students reported seeing Davis urinate in the classroom, though the police has also received reports that contradict those allegations as well. The incident is being investigated.

A teacher has been fired from her position at a Texas private school after allegedly encouraging kindergarten students to punch one of their classmates in the face.

The problems started when Devarius Williams, 5, and other children from the Robindell Private School took a field trip to a restaurant in Sugar Land last week.

Devarius' parents said he got into a fight.

Devarius' mother, Barbara Mobley, said the teacher had her own idea of discipline.

"The teacher that was driving his particular van got him and his group together and said, 'When we get on the van, I want everybody to punch Devarius in the face because he punched the little girl in the face,'" Mobley said.

Mobley estimated that at least a dozen children hit her son.

"As each child got on the bus, she said 'go,'" Mobley said. "They punched my son and went and sat down."

"It was a big mistake. She should have never done it," said Robindell's director and part-owner, Chuck Wall.

Wall said he quickly investigated and the teacher was fired within 30 minutes of the complaint.

A Londonderry high school teacher repeatedly offered to have sex with one of her students and also e-mailed nude photographs of herself that ended up circulating among students at the New Hampshire school, according to police. Melinda Dennehy, 41, is charged with one count of indecent exposure for allegedly e-mailing the nude photograph of herself to a 15-year-old student, according to a police affidavit released today.

Earlier this week, staff at the school learned from students that "an inappropriate picture(s) of a female teacher were being distributed throughout the high school by the students,'' the affidavit says."This picture has been identified by co-workers to be that of Melinda Dennehy.''
Dennehy was placed on paid administrative leave on Wednesday when information about the photographs surfaced, triggering a separate investigation by the school department, said Londonderry School Superintendent Nathan S. Greenberg. "We will conduct our own investigation and we will take any action deemed warranted by our findings,'' he said.

A middle school music teacher has been arrested for driving under the influence. The arrest happened on Sunday after a Sarasota deputy was approached by a citizen who was concerned about a man they thought was extremely drunk. The person told the deputy "he was all over the road and going to kill someone."

The deputy found the suspect, Ronald Jodwalis, parked very close to the gas pumps at the BP station, eating what appeared to be a yellow wrapper. Jodwalis told the deputy that he was very drunk and repeated that he was drunk for about every question he was asked. The arrest affidavit states that Jodwalis is a music teacher at Venice Middle School.

The deputy noted that the suspect was slurring his words, his eyes were bloodshot and he had trouble standing. The deputy also noted that when he opened the door, he was overcome with a pungent odor of alcohol.
